Started in 1887, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) was known as the working men’s institution in its early days. Over the years, the university has evolved to a have a global presence with academic and research partnerships and centers in Asia and Europe and worldwide impact on higher education. For the ITP class of students entering VIT in 2016 for the first two years of study will have the option to undergo the last two years of study at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia starting 2018 in the following programs:

B.E. Electrical Engineering
B.E. Computer Engineering
B.E. Mechanical Engineering

The minimum criteria for admission as a transfer student are as follows:
Acceptable IELTS or TOEFL scores due before the end of the 2nd year of study at VIT
Grade point of average of 8.0 or above during the first two years of study at VIT
No standing arrears in any of the subjects
Meeting proof of finances to complete the last two years study in Australia

The minimum estimated cost of education for international students, entering the university in 2016 is as follows:
Tuition fees: US $23, 000.
Room and board: US $11,000.
Other expenses: unspecified.
