The University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth (UMassD) is one of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts system with about 10,000 students. Located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, the beautiful campus and the faculty and staff of the university complement the massive education and research system of Greater Boston and the State of Massachusetts. Began as a textile institution, UMassD has evolved to shape the state’s economy through innovation in technology education, research and the development and implementation of new technologies. The university currently offers programs in the following areas:Business, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Nursing, Visual and Performing Arts, Law and Marine Science and Technology.

For the ITP class of students entering VIT in 2016 for the first two years of study will have the option to undergo the last two years of study at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth starting 2018 in the following programs:

B.S. Electrical Engineering
B.S. Computer Engineering
B.S. Mechanical Engineering

The minimum criteria for admission as a transfer student are as follows:
TOEFL score of 80 or above before the end of the 2nd year of study at VIT
Grade point of average of 8.0 or above during the first two years of study at VIT
No standing arrears in any of the subjects
Meeting proof of finances to complete the last two years study in the USA

The minimum estimated cost of education for international students, entering the university in 2016 is as follows:
Tuition fees: US $26,000.
Room and board: US $12,000.
Other expenses: unspecified.
Please note that there may be annual increase of fees by about 6% or more.
