Uthiram – a Blood Donation Drive organised by Rotaract Club of VIT Chennai was held on Friday. More than 300 units of blood were collected, organised to mark the birthday celebrations of Dr. G.Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor. The Blood Donation Drive was inaugurated by Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT in the presence of Mr. K.Thamizharasu, Zonal Manager, Indian Bank. The Founder & Chancellor’s birthday falls on Sunday, December 8. The Blood Donation Drive was organised by Rotaract Club of VIT Chennai and sponsored by Rotary Club of Chennai Spotlight and the Health Club of VIT Chennai along with Indian Bank. The collected units of Blood would be taken to Madras Voluntary Blood Bank, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Kilpauk Medical College Hospital and Tagore Medical College & Hospital.
