VIT Chennai Campus’ Dramatics Club is vivacious, energetic, enthusiastic, excited, tough intellectuals and so much more. The Club’s spirit is quite symbolic of what drama means ‘I do’. The participants and actors who make up the Club are young aficionados of exemplary theatre and street drama. There has always been many a great performance on Campus and Off-Campus. The Club is focused on staging all plays discussing issues that are pure arcane to human rights issues to blending tragedy with comedy. We at LitSoc firmly believe that language, words and ideas have the power to transform the world. With active members fuelling the life source of our club, we have accomplished many feats. We aim at proliferating literature in all of its forms, which encompass language in all its forms; written, oratory and unspoken. All these pods in a pea have proven from time to time that our level of team work and coordination are what set us apart.
Music Club
Music club is dedicated to improve, refine and develop the music skill among the students of VIT Chennai. It provides opportunity to the music aspirants by conducting and organizing various events. It encourages the students to participate and compete at various platforms. The primary objective of club is to explore new talents and impart the qualities to the students. It also includes conduction and organization of such events that create an atmosphere of fun and excitement to the student members. Events such as Pitch please, Retro night, Poco andante, Battle of bands, Supersinger and a lot of exciting and enthralling activities which not only boost the confidence but also help in ensuring the mastery in forte.
Photography Club
If one goes by the definition, photography is the art or practice of taking and processing photographs. We at VIT Chennai, as the members of the photography club, look forward to promote creativity through photography, share and critique the photographs of peers, educate and improve technical skills, and spread the love of photography throughout the community.
We seek to display our love for photography through the constructive criticism of our peers, leisure activities that involve photography, and the promotion of photography in any way possible.

Quiz Club
The MCQC, short for The Macho Quiz Club is dedicated toward high quality quizzing. The club aims to increase awareness and interest in quizzing. We at MCQC try our best to test the quizzers ability to use his knowledge and apply it where it necessary, so much so that in order to walk away with top honor at any one of our quizzes, you will definitely be tested in your ability to connect the dots and apply the knowledge you have in limited time. We have at least 5 quizzes every semester, and a team of dedicated individuals are chosen from our club to intricately weave the strings of a standard MCQC quiz, this includes question forming, hosting and advertising in college and on all possible social media platforms as well.

Fine Arts Club
Arignar Anna Tamil Mandram
Arignar Anna Tamil Mandram aims at spreading the Tamil language and its rich culture to young minds. Tamil Mandram organizing events like poem recital, article writing and debates on various topics related to the language. The “pongal” vizha is a signature event for Tamil Mandram. It will be celebrated every year with its traditional values. Maakkolam, Uri adiththal, Bullock ride and Silambam will be demonstrated by the students during Pongal Vizha. The traditional sports like kho-kho and kabbadi will be conducted for girls and boys respectively. A cultural program will be organized on the eve of pongal. Aringar Anna Tamil Mandram will be organizing classes to learn silambam.

Designers club
This club intends to integrate inter-discipline minds to nurture ideas and engineer them into products. Club members are encouraged to brainstorm ideas using concept development groups (CDG) and the team identifies the skills required to engineer those concepts. Thus one of the major objectives would be to have training for dummies across the necessary engineering domains. Further there is always an expert lecture series on intellectual property rights and patenting part of the activities. This club is many times misconstrued with art & graphic design , which is not and is more of industrial design ! The various activities include CDGs conceiving ideas in structured brainstorming sessions, skill training sessions for dummies and also encourages to participate in inter-collegiate design contests. There had been interactions from industrial styling experts, concept designers etc. too in the past. Few developed concepts include innovative home appliances, medical instruments, table top holders etc. Interestingly computer engineering students have learnt CAD to mechanical simulation and mechanical students had sessions on embedded tools. This makes the club versatile for any disciple engineering student to nurture and bring their ideas to reality!

The Yoga Club of VIT University Chennai was inaugurated on 21st Sep 2016 with a purpose of serving the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the whole of VIT family. With many initiatives undertaken by both governmental and non-governmental organization in promoting Yoga in the nation, the Yoga Club is also equally enthusiastic in promoting it in the University. The Club treats in a special way each and every category of VITians from Students, Staff and others members to cater their needs. The Yoga Club offers an opportunity to plunge into our inner consciousness through several programs of ashtanga Yoga as well as other Yogic practices.

We, a group of 50 students and 1 faculty, embark ourselves in amazing, spine-chilling and ecstatic treks, which ultimately gets drilled in our minds and hearts as memorable events with unparalleled experiences.

National Entrepreneurship Network (Vit Nen Club)
Entrepreneur start-ups or lean start-ups are businesses with humble beginning but with great promising features. These help the younger generation on becoming self-dependent and be more creative in their respective fields of interest. Even Indian government has taken initiatives to promote entrepreneurship and creativity in people with schemes such as Startup India campaign and making India campaign. National entrepreneurship network is an initiative take by VIT Chennai campus to promote the Startup India campaign. It aims at providing proper environment to promote and incubate the ideas and creativity of students. The club provides all necessary theoretical and practical help which is necessary for carrying out their early business plans. This is the best opportunity for students to try, fail and try again and collect both experience and knowledge on humble level before stepping into the competitive world.
Uddeshya VIT Chennai
“Empowering Youth-Fueling Change” is the motto the members of Uddeshya abide by on their journey to achieve a long lasting change. It is a youth based NGO, founded by a group of enthusiastic students of VIT University, which now functions at a national level.
It was expanded to various parts of the country. After functioning for a time period of one year, and making an outreach to over 8 states in the nation, Uddeshya has finally been able to successfully establish itself in VIT.
Our goal is to reach out to the youth on a peer to peer approach ensuring them to be capable of handling the challenges and becoming the ambassadors of change. We train members as peer educators and leaders wherein encouragement to identify and tackle problems such as bullying, discrimination, substance abuse and sex education is given.
Our uniqueness lies in the fact that we utilize positive peer pressure as a tool of guidance, inspiration and encouragement enabling us to set the wheels of change in motion. We strive to provide a platform for budding entrepreneurs in concurrence with bettering the society and themselves.

Women’s Development Club
“Women”; this word creates a picture, a picture of a mother, a sister, a wife, a daughter and it’s needless to express the essentiality of their well being because most of us are already indebted by their sacrifices, love, and care. As rightly stated in a famous phrase “women hold up half the sky” it means that half credit for the stability of humanity goes to women. Since the dawn of time for humanity, women have always been equally working for the betterment of Society but for some reason they were subdued, abused and were prohibited from equal opportunities in most of the cultures in middle ages, but we are lucky that we have now recognised that anomaly and now are working to provide equal opportunities to them in all spheres of life. Our club is devoted for ensuring the well-being and providing equal opportunities for them by arranging competitions, seminars, presentations, charity events, debates, performances and showcasing their talent.

The purpose of this club is to inspire, encourage and initiate the student members in all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized, alleviated and even prevented, thus contributing to create a more congenial climate for peace. The club aims to provide:

VITeach
VITeach is a student run social club at VIT University, Chennai campus. Students from different branches and batches come together to teach the children of Aadhi Dravida Nada Middle School, a government school in Melakottiyur. The children are taught spoken and written English through engaging, interactive and colorful mediums. The club members also organize ‘Sunday Kids’ sessions for the children of the workers in the campus. At these sessions the children are encouraged to involve in games incorporating the ‘Play and Learn’ technique. Additionally, over the course of the academic year, events such as Kids Carnival, Wishtree and plays are conducted for the children.

Android Club
Android club is for developers who are interested in androids developer technology; everything from the Android, Chrome, Drive, and Google Cloud platforms, to product APIs like the Cast API, Maps API, and YouTube API are being used by the students to build apps.
A club can take many forms from just a few people getting together, to large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to events like code sprints and hack-a-thon’s. However, at core, android club focuses on development of technical content among the club members.

CIVITEK is The Civil Engineering Club at VIT Chennai. It focuses on concepts and principles in the built environment, as well as on the technological process. It embraces practical skills and the application of scientific principles. We aim at:

Linux Club
This group is created with an objective of spreading the awareness of Free/Open Source Software. Everybody in this group would serve as ambassadors of the group in this mission. Free/ Open Source Software is the one where the end user gets the right to create, modify, rewrite, and redistribute the original software for free of cost and with full source code. Software Freedom Day which is celebrated all over the world is also celebrated by Linux Club at VITCC regularly. Linux User Group Students would be always observed by the process oriented industries like Microsoft, Google and Yahoo. Contests and Project Expos are the way of life at Linux Club. Installation fest is also conducted by the Linux Club.
Robotics Club
Robotics Club of VIT Chennai comprises of students from different departments who have a common passion for Robotics and believe that robotics has the power to change the future and make this world a better place. The Club offers indispensable guidance, workshops and tutorials along with tools, equipment, components and workspace. Team Technocrats, a team under Robotics club participates in International Robotics event known as “ROBOCON” which exposes the students to new challenges each year which can be overcome by students by making Robots.

IET- VIT On Campus –Chennai
The Institute of Engineering and Technology, IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with over many members from 150 countries. It is also the most multidisciplinary – to reflect the increasingly diverse nature of engineering to a better world by inspiring, informing and influencing people from all over the world and all those who are touched by, or touch, the work of engineers. The IET –VIT On Campus, Chennai was established in September 2018. The main objective of this professional society is to create a vision for young engineers to work for a better world. The aim is also to inspire, inform and influence the global engineering community, supporting technology innovation to meet the needs of society. Association For Computing Machinery (Acm)
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international learned society for computing. It was founded in 1947 and is the world’s largest scientific and educational computing society. It is a not-for-profit professional membership group. ACM is organized into over 171 local chapters and 37 Special Interest Groups (SIGs), through which it conducts most of its activities. Additionally, there are over 500 college and university chapters. By becoming the member of VIT Chennai ACM the students would get more benefits as that of regular members and be updated towards the technology.

ENFUSE (Energy and fuel User's )VIT Student
ENFUSE –VIT Student chapter was established in the year 2013 in collaboration with Energy and Fuel Users Association of India, Chennai. Every year around 100 students are registered for the membership. The main objective of this chapter is to create awareness among the student community about fuel and energy conservation , understand the benefits of renewable energy generation and sustainable development. Some of the activities includes awareness and quiz program for students, LPG clinic, drivers clinic and energy related seminars. Along with membership card , four copies of “Energy and fuel users journal” are issued to members every year .Members are also encouraged to publish articles in the journals.

CYSCOM VIT Chennai Student Chapter
The CYSCOM, an online community, produces freely-available articles, methodologies, documentation, tools, and technologies in the field of web application security.
The CYSCOM VIT Student Chapter was formed in 2016 and ever since it’s had one aim only, spreading awareness about cyber security and malware as well as ransomware threats in society and circles of students and teaching them how to deploy counter measures through various events and undertakings.

Vit Chennai – Ieee Student Branch
The Student Branch of IEEE was started in VIT Chennai in 2011. Since then, it has developed into a mutlifaceted student club on campus, organizing a wide variety of technically focussed events from workshops to student TechTalks to playing a significant role in technical fests.
The Student Branch attempts to provide a platform for students from different branches and years to connect with each other and IEEE members from other colleges.
Student members have the choice to get involved in technical projects, presentations, website building and maintenance and non-technical aspects such as marketing, volunteering for IEEE events and networking with other student branches.
In addition, the long term goal of the Student Branch on campus is to work on a long-term Engineering Projects In Community Service (EPICS) in IEEE related to village life.

The Power Electronics Society (PELS) is one of the fastest growing technical societies of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). For over 20 years, PELS has facilitated and guided the development and innovation in power electronics technology. IEEE, PELS Students branch, VIT Chennai is one of the pioneer technical society in the domain of power electronics based skill development. It also provides a forum to discuss about the recent developments of power electronic based technologies. The club is actively involved to arrange workshops, technical talks, seminar and other activities.
OSA VIT Chennai Student Chapter
The Optical Society of America (OSA) is the world’s leading professional association in optics and photonics. Founded in 1916, it proudly houses leading science, engineering, and business experts around the globe. OSA enphasizes on its mission to promote the generation, dissemination, application and archiving of knowledge in optics and photonics.
Ever since its birth in November 2014, our OSA VIT Chennai Student Chapter has been buzzing with life with our ever-enthusiastic members. The chapter provides a base for aspiring engineers to launch themselves into an arena of light, optics, and photonics, and apply their discovered knowledge and technologies to promote sustainable development, and provide solutions to world-wide challenges in the sectors of energy, education, agriculture, communications, and healthcare. By participating in our student chapter, you are exposed to unique chapter benefits, development of technical knowledge leadership experience, and lifetime relations with peers, leaders, and mentors. While in OSA, you will meet opportunities by the dozen, and open doors to greater accomplishments. OSA provides opportunities not only in India, but around the world. Through our student chapter, we have been able to guide our members upon their research and subject papers, and channel their work into tremendous opportunities of paper presentations and conferences in many foreign countries.
Our student body relentlessly strives to create more awareness among students regarding optical technology and its role and impact in sustainable development and solutions to global challenges. According to us, awareness must start when creativity and thinking is at its peak – the school level. Our student chapter frequently visits schools in and around the city, to expose its students to the amazement of the study of light. At the university level, promotional and technical events, and industrial visits help our budding engineers seek out knowledge.
IEEE Photonics Society – Student Chapter
The IEEE Photonics Society forms a vibrant technical community dedicated to transforming breakthroughs in quantum physics into the devices, systems & products to revolutionize our daily lives. Optical networks are tailor-made to handle lots of data. With spectrum that far exceeds the practical limits of copper, fiber will be a key asset in the drive to establish 5G and the internet of things as the new cornerstones of the digital economy. Also, the cutting edge technology includes cognitive networks, flat-screen displays, on-chip devices, LEDs for energy-efficient illumination, there are myriad examples of the photonics impact on the world around us.
Get involved: Volunteering allows students to get involved with new opportunities and develop technical, social, and academic skills that they may not learn in a classroom or lab environment. The ability of people to work willingly together for the betterment of their community and themselves is a valuable resource. The IEEE Photonics Society has a variety of leadership positions and volunteer opportunities available within Membership, Outreach, Conferences & Publications designed to do just that. Photonics society has various councils and outreach programs seeking volunteer participation. Volunteers with leadership and organizational skills are needed to help impact the future success of the society.
What we do? We organize, contribute to and participate in technical workshops, conferences, Thon events, Webinars and other activities covering all aspects of photonics in order to share and disseminate our breakthroughs. We provide interdisciplinary platform which includes Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, IoT, Integrated circuits and Bio-medical fields.

The Road Runners
Formed in the year 2012 by a group of automobile enthusiasts of VIT University Chennai Campus with an aim of developing and racing All-Terrain Vehicles.
Official team of VIT Chennai for participating in events like BAJA SAE India, BAJA student India and Enduro student India.
The team comprises of students from Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science backgrounds united by the immense passion for automobiles and a common ambition of achieving great things together.
One of the youngest teams to achieve a podium finish in the year 2016 [BAJA STUDENT INDIA-2016 (BSI-2016) organized by JK Tyres on 21-26 January, 2016 at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, Delhi].
