Development of Tungsten-Tantalum (W-Ta) composite film as a first wall coating for fusion blanket using RF sputtering process
The BRNS Funded Project amounting to Rs. 28,19,650 from 2016-2019 is an ongoing Venture initiated by Dr.Umasankar. V, Professor – School of Mechanical and Building Sciences. The project aims to make a suitable Plasma Facing Material (PFM) for a fusion reactor. High neutron radiation with extreme pressure and temperature makes it difficult for a material to sustain in the plasma chamber.
