Industrial Exposure

In addition to classroom teaching, it is mandatory that the students undergo industrial training before the completion of the program, preferably during the end of fourth semester and certainly before the starting of the 8th semester. The industrial training carries two credits (EEE3099 Industrial Internship), and is supervised by an industry expert. During this period, the students gain practical knowledge in the profession and an exposure to contemporary practices in industry. Students are required to maintain a working log book during industrial training. They must submit a final report and make an oral presentation on their experiences in industry and the knowledge gained during their work. A faculty panel would evaluate and assign a grade for the work in industry. Some of the concerns where Industrial Trainings have been done by B.Tech students are listed as follows:

BHEL, Hyderabad
BHEL is an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer and one of the largest engineering and manufacturing company in India. The company focusses on the design, engineering, manufacture, construction, testing, commissioning and servicing of a wide range of products and services for core sectors of the economy. (Power, Transmission, Industry, Transportation (Railways), Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Water and Defence). Students underwent internship in the heavy power equipment plant.

Tata Power, Mumbai
Tata Power is India’s largest integrated power company with significant international presence in wind, solar, hydro and geothermal energy space. Students underwent internship in the Trombay Thermal Power Plant owned by Tata power and studied various process involved in the power plant.

POWERGRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED, Haryana
This organization is engaged in power transmission business with the responsibility for planning, coordination, supervision and control over inter-state transmission system and operation of National & Regional Power Grids. Students were given training on substation design and methodology adopted.
NATIONAL THERMAL POWER CORPORATION, Rajasthan
Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Station (KhSTPP)is located in Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC. Students were undergone training in different sections of the plant and studied the various equipment used in the power plant.

SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC PRIVATE LIMITED
Schneider Electric is a French multinational corporation that specializes in manufacturing of electrical circuit breakers, switchgear and transformers. Student is assigned a project titled “Electrical Distribution in the Building Sector and New Trends”.

Global Exposure

Students carrying out the end semester project work are encouraged to work in other international research institutes/universities in a research topic of their choice.
