Netlogo allows programmers to easily build animated, graphical software models showing how populations of entities interact. These models allow us to investigate the many naturally occurring systems that act in unexpected ways producing large-scale behaviors that are not predictable from their component parts; those ecosystems, human social organizations and financial markets which generate novel, emergent phenomena that are not easily explained by traditional computing methods.
