One Day National Workshop on Data Analysis for Civil Engineering using R. This workshop is intended to provide an opportunity to faculty members, research scholars, UG/PG students, and industrial participants to enhance their knowledge on the emerging field known as ‘Data Analysis’ for Civil Engineering perspective. The salient features of this workshop are as follows: • Data Analysis Paradigms – Data Cleaning, Data enrichment, and Data Mining techniques • Data Visualization using R – Plotting Data: Basic Plotting, ‘plotrix’, ‘ggplot2’ and ‘lattice’ • Univariate, Bivariate and Multivariate Statistics for Civil Engineering applications using R (Emphasis on Concrete Quality Control, and Environmental and Water Resources Engineering) • Machine Learning applications for Civil Engineering – Decision Tree, Random Forest, Clustering, Support Vector Machine and so on (Emphasis on Structural Design and Geotechnical applications) • Soft Computing techniques for Civil Engineering – Neural Network (Emphasis on Construction Management) • Spatial data analysis for Civil Engineering using ‘ggmap’ and ‘rmap’ (Emphasis on Surveying and GIS) • Hands-on-Training in R Studio The workshop is aimed at the multi-facet audience from Industry participants, Full time Research Scholars, UG/PG Students and academicians from Engineering & Science colleges in various disciplines like Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Science Engineering, and Geoinformatics. This workshop also provides an excellent opportunity to know about the possibilities of inter-disciplinary and transdisciplinary research. DELIVERABLES 1. Free and Opensource Software – R 2.
