VIT University Chennai Campus View mapRenewable energy sources and in particular Photovoltaic(PV) systems are implemented in large scale in many countries for power generation. The characteristics of PV arrays are non-linear i.e., the change in temperature and irradiation levels results in change of power generated by the PV arrays. DC-DC converters are connected between the PV array and the load as power conditioning unit to regulate the output of the PV system. Control circuits are key elements in the operation and performance of power electronics. This hands-on course aims to train the participants with the algorithm formulation and program development for generation of pulses to dc-dc and dc-ac converters. Participants who attend the course will gain in-depth knowledge of the interaction of power electronics and microcontroller.
