Foreign trade of every country is considered to be the backbone for the growth of its economy. Each country has their own strategies to boost their economic growth. Exporting goods and services to the other country will help to generate more revenue to the country, provide employment opportunities, raise the income level, increase GDP and promote the entire economic development of the country. India is the 18th largest export economy in the world and the 50th most complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). A number of institutions have been set up by the government of India to promote exports. The export and import functions are looked after by the Ministry of Commerce. The Government formulates the export-import policies and programmes that give direction to the exporters.
