Technology and Leadership towards 2035: Global Summit
The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) recently hosted a global leadership summit at its Chennai campus, bringing together 32 delegates from 15 countries. This prestigious event was part of VIT’s Ruby Jubilee celebration and provided a platform for leaders to discuss advancements in technology, higher education, leadership, and future trends in global management practices.

Leaders from Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka participated in the summit, sharing their expertise and experiences.
*Chancellor G Viswanathan’s Keynote Address*
G Viswanathan, founder and chancellor of VIT, emphasized the crucial role of leadership in fostering innovation and global collaboration. He highlighted the importance of education in internationalizing learning, particularly in Asian countries striving to keep pace with the West.
Viswanathan noted that Asian countries have increased their international student population from 3% to 6%, with further growth expected. He stressed that expanding access to higher education is vital for societal and economic development.
Moreover, Viswanathan pointed to the pressing issue of wealth inequality, where the top 10% control 80% of the wealth. He urged governments to increase investment in education to promote equality and sustainable economic growth.

VIT has a strong international presence, with over 500+ international MoUs across the globe. The institute offers various programs, including Semester Abroad Programme (SAP) and International Transfer Programme (ITP), to provide students with global exposure.
