for Induction Program
For students of B.Tech and 5 year Integrated M.Tech programs, the induction program will be held during the period from 7th Aug to 10th Aug 2023 in a staggered manner. Refer to the table below for the date of induction for various programs. Students availing hostel accommodation are expected to report earlier as indicated below. Following the induction, regular classes will be conducted.

Orientation Schedule for Various Programs: check for updates – Last updated on 5th Aug
Guidelines for Orientation Programme:
- Gate pass for entry into M.G.Auditorium will be mailed to the students. Download the Gate Pass for your program and bring it (as softcopy or hardcopy) and it is required for your entry (both students and parents) into the MG Auditorium. Entry is allowed into the M G Auditorium only during the slot scheduled for your respective program.
- Parents are allowed ONLY on the day of orientation for their wards.
- For hostel students: Parents are allowed ONLY on the day of hostel admission and on their scheduled orientation day.
- Inside the auditorium, students should be seated at the ground floor and parents are requested to sit in the gallery.
- For the parents and students arriving by their own vehicle, parking facility is arranged in the campus: Cricket ground near Academic Block – 1
- Entry for the freshers and their parents is allowed through Main Gate (Gate 1) only
- Free shuttle buses from the following locations in Chennai are arranged to pick up and drop off the parents and students (only on the day of orientation for respective batches). The buses would leave the campus at 5:45 pm. Parents and students may utilize this facility.
Pickup/drop points:
Tambaram (near bus stand) – 7:30am
Vandalur junction (Vandalur Kelambakkam Road) – 8:00am
Sholinganallur junction – 7:30am
Alandur Metro station – 7:00am
Airport – 7:00am
