Industry / Institute collaboration

To promulgate research and placement activities several initiatives are taken to collaborate with leading industries and reputed institutes in India and Abroad. To name a few, the school has initiated collaboration with NSK Bearing, a leading bearing manufacturer in the world and it is also in collaboration with Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland, etc.

The school actively associates itself with the nearby industries in its regular practice which includes die and mould making, complex part manufacturing, rapid prototyping, developing new mechanisms and reverse engineering applications.

Some of the major initiatives in the direction of strengthening of research in the school include signing of MoU’s with Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bangalore; Defence Research & Development Laboratory, Hyderabad; and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras; Anna University, Chennai; Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland.

Industry Internship

The students are advised to undergo In-Plant training to practise their accumulated theoretical knowledge in the industry. Thereby, the students will be aware about the needs of any industry. To make this practice in a systematic way, the school necessitates the students to acquire two credits before their VI semester through their four weeks industrial internship, followed by an expert committee’s review.

Industrial Visits

Industrial visits are scheduled in every semester for the students, where the arrangements and coordination will be taken care by the school through a coordinator. These visits, in addition to their laboratory classes, help students to experience the industrial environment, which inherently promotes the thinking capacity, conceptualization skills, good decision making ability and discipline among them.
