Dr.P.K.Manoharan, former Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore served for 33 years in various capacities, namely, Dean (College Development Council), Director (Research & Development Centre), Programme Co-ordinator, (National Service Scheme) in Bharathiar University.

He also served as Director (Centre for Distance Education) in Bharathidasan University, Trichy. Earlier he was with CBM College in the PG and Research Dept. of Economics as Associate Professor. Recipient of two NSS awards (Best Programme Officer Award and Best University Co-ordinator Award) from Govt. of Tamilnadu, Life Time Achievement Award, Best Teacher Award and Bharathiar University Award. He has authored 15 books and one of the books is prescribed as Text Book, participated in more than 200 programmes in All India Radio. He has been a Visiting Team Member of NCTE, UGC Expert Committee Member and UPSC Examiner.
