POWDER XRD

Powder X-ray Diffraction – Rigaku SmartLab 3 X-ray Diffractometer

POWDER XRD

• Discovery of crystalline substances acting as 3-D diffraction gratings for X-ray wavelengths by Max von Laue in 1912.
• Used to determine phase composition, quantitative phase analysis, lattice parameters, crystal structure, crystallite size, microstrain, and texture.
• Suitable for polycrystalline samples including powders, pellets, thick/thin films, and layered samples.

SEM

High Resolution Scanning Electron Microscope – Zeiss EVO10 HRSEM with LaB6

SEM

• Equipped with both tungsten and LaB6 electron sources.
• Spectral resolution: 3 nm at 30 kV and 8 nm at 3 kV.
• Enables determination of size, shape, and surface morphology of nanostructured materials down to 20 nm.
• Provides compositional analysis using EDX for point, area, and interface mapping on both conducting and non-conducting samples.
